Tom Carson is a Professional Engineer with 25+ years experience and an Adobe Certified Expert on Acrobat as well as an Adobe Certified Instructor. Tom has been working extensively on minimizing the amount of paper in engineering since 1999. His clients include NASA, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, all branches of the Department of Defense, industry, healthcare, local government, and education. Tom is co-author of Adobe Acrobat and PDF for Architecture, Engineering and Construction. He is using his engineering experience to make design through construction for efficient. | Pat Appleton is a retired teacher with 40+ years of education, many of these years were spent in researching and
evaluating the state of electronic portfolios. She discovered that most are web-based storehouses for student material. These portfolio settings are too expensive for most school budgets, limit opportunities for students to use their creativity and have little, if any, coordinated college or career planning built into the template. Also, most online portfolios are being used primarily at the college level because the cost can be passed on to students. Pat focuses on creating an inexpensive, career and goal oriented electronic portfolio which would immerse students in technology while helping them focus on the learning process. |
